Finished staircase with a fitted dado rail and Rolling Fog woodwork in Hazlerigg

A considered finish, room by room.

The aim was to give this new build home more character, with a different scheme in each room. We prepared the surfaces using our dustless sanding system, filled and repaired defects and made good areas of poor finishing before decoration. Supplied and fitted mouldings and panelling add detail throughout the house.

Living room: warmth and traditional detail.

We supplied and installed detailed coving and a picture rail before fully decorating the room. The ceiling and coving were finished in white, with Farrow & Ball Roasted Macadamia on the walls. Little Greene Intelligent Satin in Slaked Lime was used for the woodwork and picture rail, bringing a crisp finish to the warm colour scheme.

Kitchen and dining room: a connected space.

Detailed coving was supplied and installed to continue the character of the living room. After sanding, filling and making good, the ceiling was finished in white, the walls in Little Greene Intelligent Matt and the woodwork in Little Greene Intelligent Satin in Slaked Lime.

Master bedroom: a panelled focal point.

We supplied and installed modern shaker panelling with a small shelf along the top. Following dustless sanding and repairs to new build defects, the walls and ceiling were finished in Dulux Heritage Powder Colour, with matching Dulux Heritage Eggshell on the woodwork. Little Greene Eggshell gives the panelling its finished surface.

Spare bedroom: wallpaper and colour.

A supplied and fitted picture rail frames the Laura Ashley floral wallpaper beneath it. The ceiling and frieze were finished in COAT Free Range, with Free Range eggshell on the woodwork. The soft painted tones pick up the colours in the wallpaper, bringing the whole scheme together.

Hallway and staircase: the finishing touch.

We removed poorly finished caulk, sanded the ceilings, walls and woodwork and filled and repaired defects. The varnished timber handrail was sanded and primed ready for painting, and we supplied and installed a dado rail up the stairs. The ceilings and upper walls were finished in Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt. Below the dado, Little Greene Intelligent Matt in Rolling Fog was paired with matching Intelligent Satin on the woodwork, including the doors and banister.
